SFD Welcomes the Freshmen of 2023

On the afternoon of August 30th, the opening ceremony and meet-and-greet for the 2023 graduate students of Beijing Normal University's Future Design Institute was held at the Yuanbai Building Art Gallery. The Dean, Professor Gao Peng, the Party Branch Secretary, Mr. Ning Shaolin, along with all the faculty and new students attended the ceremony. The event was jointly hosted by Mr. Liang Xu and Yang Peng.

The ceremony began with everyone standing to sing the school anthem. Following that, the Party Branch Secretary, Mr. Ning Shaolin, delivered his speech. He stated that Beijing Normal University has a 120-year history in education, which provides a solid foundation and impetus for the development of School of Future Design. Every student of the school is a pioneer and an integral part of the school's international and social influence, all of whom will become a shining emblem for the school.

Teacher representative Dr. Wang Yunfei also spoke. He said, "Future design, as an interdisciplinary and forward-looking discipline, not only focuses on current issues but also needs to anticipate future development trends and address potential challenges. Therefore, we need to aim for innovation and practicality in designing products, services, and systems that can adapt to the future of society."

Wang Xinyi, the 2023 master's student representative, gave a speech, saying, "Design originates from life; it is an extension and sublimation of life experiences. I hope that each of us can use our expertise to bring about change in the world and become the light in our hearts."

Dean Gao Peng welcomed the arrival of the 2023 graduate students on behalf of the school. He expressed his hope that the School of Future Design would become the dream school for all the students, and he also hoped that, through mutual learning, everyone present would prove to society that they are indeed the best design students and the best design school.
