On April 13, the 2nd Members' Congress of the Design Education Branch of the China Industrial Design Association and the National Design Education Development Forum were held at Beijing Normal University Zhuhai Campus. The event invited over 300 representatives from more than 30 provinces and cities nationwide, including headmasters, subject discipline leaders, core journal editors, young teachers, and designers, to discuss the inheritance and innovation of design education.

At the opening of the conference, Wang Shoujun, Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Executive Vice President of Beijing Normal University, delivered a speech. He stated that Beijing Normal University, a double first-class university spanning two national strategic areas of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei and Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao, has carried out a series of effective explorations and practices to expand the carrier of education and root in the fertile ground for innovation in the Greater Bay Area, relying on BNU's profound humanities foundation and first-class discipline advantages. He hoped that this event could break the original boundaries of design education in the differences and consensus, reconstruct the design education model, and explore new strategies for the development of design education.
Liu Ning, President of the China Industrial Design Association, pointed out in his speech that the Design Education Branch is a high-end think tank that will continuously export expert resources for our country. The association will also establish a national craft designer sharing library in the future to fully support the improvement of the design capabilities of the manufacturing industry.

During the meeting, the Design Education Branch announced the list of the 2nd Chairman, Deputy Chairman, Council, Individual Council, and Advisors. The Beijing Normal University School of Future Design was selected as the Deputy Chairman of the 2nd Council, and Professor Xu Ping, a distinguished professor at Beijing Normal University, was appointed as an advisor to the branch.
The concurrently held National Design Education Development Forum was hosted by the China Industrial Design Association, co-organized by the Design Education Branch and the Beijing Normal University School of Future Design. It invited experts and scholars from well-known design colleges, design-leading enterprises, design education-related institutions, and editors-in-chief, presidents of magazines such as "ZHUANGSHI", "Journal of Nanjing Art Institute (Fine Art & Design)", "Packaging Engineering". Professor Gao Peng, Dean of the BNU School of Future Design, Professor Fang Xiaofeng, Editor-in-chief of " ZHUANGSHI" and Deputy Dean of the Academy of Fine Arts, Tsinghua University, and Fan Ling, Founder of Tezign and Professor at Tongji University made keynote speeches at the forum. Dean Gao Peng introduced the development vision and unique teaching model of the School of Future Design, hoping that the school can gather outstanding scholars and industry experts to discuss and practice various possibilities of future design education and contribute to China's design education.

The National Design Education Development Forum set up four sub-forums, each focusing on the key tasks and trendy topics of design education development in our country, discussing high-quality development of design education in terms of accelerating the development of new productive forces, constructing design interdisciplinary, integrating production and education, and researching design theory system.
