Beijing Normal University Future Design Seed Fund

Future Design Seed Fund is a public welfare fund launched by Beijing Normal University Future Design Center and Future Design School (in preparation).

Objectives

To identify design talents and youth teachers worldwide
To organize a wide range of social forces to jointly for scientific research
To build a new type of practical training platform and optimize the training mode for talent innovation
To deepen university-enterprise cooperation and accelerate the transformation of scientific research results

Funding Amount

10-15 innovative design or research projects with￥500,000-2,000,000 fund per project

Funding Categories

Artwork, design projects, research papers or entrepreneurship projects

Funding Areas

The design or research project shall meet one of the three directions: Future Lifestyle, Art and Technology and Future Design Education, including information and visual communication design, space and environment design, fashion life design, traditional handicraft design, information art and perception, multimedia interaction design, art design psychology research, art design education research, etc.

Application Requirement

The seed fund is open to individuals, teams and companies.
The applicant shall be the main designer being 25-45 years old.
The project plan shall be feasible for implementation with reasonable budgetary control.
The project shall involve outstanding FDS (in preparation) students for internship.

Application Material (both Chinese and English versions required)

Valid ID of the individual or the main designer of the team/company (valid ABC bank account in mainland)
A brief introduction of the /team/company and portfolio of past works or research.
1,000-2,000 words thematic statement.
Within 20-page PowerPoint presentation of the Project Plan, including but not limited to: project concept, implementation plan, time schedule, budget, project result within two years and display method.

Others

The project and materials submitted shall have no copyright disputes. The results and copyrights of the funded projects are co-shared by both Beijing Normal University and the designers.
