Beijing Normal University’s School of Future Design actively engages in international cooperation and exchanges, with highly internationalized training models and curriculum settings. Currently, it has established credit recognition, scholar exchanges, and student exchanges with the Royal College of Art in the UK, POLI.design School of Milan Polytechnic University in Italy, California College of the Arts in the US, University for the Creative Arts in the UK, City University of Hong Kong, Konkuk University in South Korea, Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts in Singapore, and five national universities in Kyrgyzstan: Kyrgyz National Technical University, Issyk-Kul State University, and Osh State University. These collaborations provide students with a cross-cultural academic exchange platform.

The SFD features a PBL (Project-Based Learning) teaching approach and has signed cooperation agreements with renowned companies and large organizations such as Lenovo, Haier, Li-Ning, Markor Furnishings and the Palace Museum School for collaborative research and project design. Our extensive networking and deep interaction
within the industry provide a long lasting source of innovation for the school’s teaching content. In 2022, the school was recognized as the initial batch of ‘Innovation Design Research Institute for Future Production and Lifestyle’ by the China Industrial Design Association. In 2023, the school was elected as a governing unit of the China National Arts and Crafts Society. In 2024, the school was appointed as a Vice Chair Unit of the China Industrial Design Association.
