Program introduction

The Art Design program is oriented towards societal cultural development and the advancement of information technology. It emphasizes interdisciplinary studies, leveraging the foundational disciplines of arts and sciences at Beijing Normal University. The program consists of three specialized tracks: Digital Arts and Interactive Design, Future Smart Living Design, and Future Smart Scene Design.

The program actively implements the university's vision for the development of new interdisciplinary subjects, with a focus on the integration of culture and technology. It addresses the societal demands for industrial upgrading and high-quality development by nurturing innovative artistic design talents with deep humanistic literacy and a cutting-edge international perspective.

Educational Objectives

The program aims to cultivate versatile and innovative artistic design talents with a strong sense of cultural confidence, noble humanistic spirit, artistic pursuit, broad vision, and strong innovative consciousness. Through their studies, students will develop artistic design literacy, be able to apply emerging technologies for design services, and possess the ability for continuous learning, independent research, as well as excellent cross-disciplinary collaboration and coordination skills.

Curriculum

Students will learn fundamental knowledge and skills in design, acquiring basic design and programming abilities. Based on the theoretical foundation of art and design studies, students will gain a comprehensive understanding of the discipline, followed by further study on innovative design and expression. They will also learn relevant design methods and languages in Digital Arts and Interactive Design, Future Smart Living Design, and Future Smart Scene Design.

Program Duration and Degree

The program is a full-time four-year course. Within the designated study period, students are required to complete the courses specified in the curriculum modules. Upon meeting the graduation criteria, including satisfactory academic performance and fulfilling the total credit requirements for the major, students are eligible for graduation. Also once students who meet the requirements for the Bachelor's degree, students will be awarded a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art Design.

PBL Mode and Internship Opportunities

During their studies, students will join laboratories established jointly by industry mentors and academic advisors, providing opportunities for internships at well-known internet companies, design firms, art galleries, and other enterprises or institutions.

Scholarships

Students with outstanding academic performance will receive scholarships supported by the government, the university, and enterprises.Scholarship prize will include China National Scholarship,National Encouragement Scholarship,Beijing Normal University Scholarship etc.

Overseas Studies

The university offers various international exchange programs, with excellent students receiving priority recommendations.Students will have oppertunity to visit well known university like University of Oxford,University of California,Nanyang Technological University and Keio University.
