On September 11, 2024, Professor Soojung HAM from the Industrial Design Department at the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) visited SFD, engaging in a profound exchange with both faculty and students.

As a maker, designer, and educator with 30 years of experience in industrial design, Professor HAM has cultivated close relationships with a wide range of stakeholders and institutions. During her session, she shared her professional experiences and academic research, emphasizing the importance of storytelling and empathy in design. She stressed that these are crucial tools for students to develop creativity, gain influence, and achieve innovative results. Furthermore, she highlighted how advancements in technology are profoundly impacting our ability to work with intangible systems and envision a better future.
