On November 21,SFD welcomed Professor Emerita Inkeri Ruokonen from the University of Turku and Associate Professor Niu Shuanghong from the University of Helsinki. They were received by Dean Gao Peng and faculty representatives of the School.
Accompanied by School faculty, the guests visited a thematic exhibition at the School Art Gallery. This was followed by an academic exchange session, during which the two sides held in-depth and productive discussions on a range of topics. These included an overview of Finland’s Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) system, comparisons between Chinese and Finnish early education systems, gamebased learning approaches, interdisciplinary skill development, as well as child development and creativity cultivation.
This exchange has provided valuable international perspectives for the School’s research and innovative design in early childhood education. The College will continue to engage with cuttingedge topics such as early education, contributing fresh momentum to the highquality development of the field.
