Lu Di, SFD faculty member, received multiple international design awards

Recently, the winners of several international design awards, including the 2024 European Product Design Award, the International Design Award in Los Angeles, the A' Design Award, the Asia Design Award, and the K Design Award in Korea, were announced. Lu Di, a teacher from BNU School of Future Design, achieved remarkable success by winning a total of 23 awards for 12 design works in these prestigious international competitions.

All of the above works have been patented

Lu Di, a faculty member of BNU School of Future Design, serves as the Head of the International Innovation Impact Center at the school. His personal design works have received 109 international renowned design awards, including the Red Dot Design Award, and 65 domestic design awards, including the Design Intelligence Award in China. He holds more than 90 national patents as the first author.

The A' Design Award & Competition (from Italy) is currently the largest and most diverse international design competition in the world. Its aim is to discover and recognize outstanding design, technology, and creativity on a global scale, providing a platform for international exposure to winners and inspiring individuals, groups, or companies to create high-quality products, projects, and services for the advancement of society and industry prosperity.

The Asia Design Prize recognizes innovative and impactful designs that contribute to the world. Through a fair and open selection process that respects privacy, representative design works are chosen. The competition strives to discover novel design concepts that can lead the future and promote them globally. In addition to industrial, visual, and spatial design, interior attention is given to designs that address regional social issues such as extreme weather, polarization, racial discrimination, and food shortage, aiming to create a better world.

The European Product Design Award aims to recognize the efforts of global product designers who have improved everyday life with practical and thoughtful design. It also honors strategic thinking and imagination in creating great products. EPDA promotes the development of product design worldwide and provides worldwide exposure to exceptional designers.

The International Design Award (from Los Angeles, USA) is one of the most respected design awards globally, aiming to recognize visionary designers and discover emerging talents in architecture, interior, product, graphic, and fashion design. IDA focuses on practical innovation and encourages conceptual ideas and thinking rich in cultural background, empowering outstanding designers and young design talents to solve real-life problems through innovative design language and create a new future. It is also the best oppurtuity for dsigners to gain global recognition.

The K-DESIGN AWARD (from Korea), known as one of the top three design awards in Asia, aims to break the dichotomy between simplicity and complexity and emphasizes the true value of creative potential and exceptional ideas in products. Based on this goal, the award strives to recognize outstanding designs created by designers, companies, design organizations, and design studios.
