Opening Ceremony Successfully Held for the 2024 National Art Fund Project: Training Art Management Personnel in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area

On the morning of June 24th, the opening ceremony for the 2024 National Art Fund supported project ‘Training for Art Museum and Art Institution Management Personnel in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area’ was successfully held at the Art Museum of the SFD. The event was attended by Ning Shaolin, the Deputy Director of the Administrative Committee, Beijing Normal University at Zhuhai and Secretary of the Party Branch of the SFD, Gao Peng, the Dean of the SFD, and project course instructors Xu Tengfei, Zhou Tiange, and Su Lei. The ceremony was hosted by Chen Junqian, a teacher at the SFD.

At the opening ceremony, Ning Shaolin, the Deputy Director of the Administrative Committee, Beijing Normal University at Zhuhai and Secretary of the Party Branch of the SFD, delivered a speech. He stated that as a national strategic region, the development of cultural and artistic endeavours in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area cannot be separated from the support of professional talent. Gao Peng, the Dean of the SFD, explained in detail the content of the 'Training for Art Museum and Art Institution Management Personnel in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area' project to the participants, following the guidelines of the 'National Art Fund Application Guide' and the 'Project Funding Agreement'. Participant representative Liu Chang shared her experience transitioning from curator to manager at the Jinwan Civic Art Centre in Zhuhai.

The party class for the project initiation was led by Secretary Ning Shaolin. He focused on the theme 'Leveraging Culture to Boost New Productive Forces,' starting with the scientific connotations and basic characteristics of new productive forces to help the participants deeply understand the significant implications of this new concept. Subsequently, Dean Gao Peng delivered a themed course to the participants titled 'Operational Strategies and Sustainable Development for Private Art Museums.' In the class, he first briefly introduced the course content, then handed over the initiative to the participants, allowing them to express their doubts and engage in in-depth class discussions through a question-and-answer format.

At the opening class meeting, Teacher Liang Xu distributed admission letters to the participants and invited them to come on stage for individual sharing. Dean Gao Peng presented each participant with a copy of the book he compiled and authored, Research on the Operation and Establishment of Private Art Museums in China, hoping that the participants would benefit from it and find inspiration for their future work.

Next, the 'Training for Art Museum and Art Institution Management Personnel in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area' project will see 30 participants spend a month of intensive classes at Beijing Normal University' Zhuhai and Beijing campuses. The program will embark on a new learning journey, revolving around four major modules: 'Aesthetic Appreciation & Theoretical Literacy,' 'Business Management & Industry Practice,' 'Innovative Application & Design Practice,' and 'Field Study Teaching’.
