Title of Work:  Tray Piggy Bank

Design Description

This is a tray-type piggy bank that also serves as a temporary storage spot for small everyday items such as coins, keys, cards, and USB drives, and is suitable for placement near an entrance. The upper tray is detachable and ingeniously interlocks with the main body. The cleverly designed clasp structure ensures that the tray and the jar connect securely, while allowing coins to slide smoothly along the edge into the piggy bank. The entire storage process is smooth and refined, creating a sense of calm satisfaction. With its graceful form and low-saturation colour palette, the  Tray Piggy Bank  blends seamlessly into most home interios.

Red Dot Concept Design Award Introduction

The  Red Dot Design Award  was established in 1955 by the Design Association of Germany and is an internationally recognized award, renowned as the “Oscars of Designs”. Together with the German iF Award and the American IDEA Award, it is regarded as one of the world’s three major design awards. The Red Dot Concept Design Award is one of the three divisions within the Red Dot Award system. It aims to encourage designers, innovative teams, and enterprises worldwide to explore the possibilities of future lifestyles and technological applications with forward-thinking creativity, promoting the transformation of design from “inspirational conception” to “practical realisation”.

Ever year, the Red Dot Concept Design Award received nearly 5,000 submissions from more than 70 countries around the world. The winning rate for the Red Dot Winner award is about 5%, while the Red Dot: Best of the Best for only around 1% of all entries. The Red Dot Concept Design Award is not only recognized as one of the highest honours for design innovation, but also serves as a crucial milestone for designers entering the international stage.
