In April 2024, the National Forum on Design Education Development, hosted by the China Industrial Design Association and co-organized by the Design Education Branch and the SFD, was held in Zhuhai, Guangdong. In July of the same year, the SFD was appointed as a special vice president unit by the China Industrial Design Association.

The China Industrial Design Association is a national-level industry association for industrial design in China. It is a non-profit, industry-specific, academic, and national social organization formed voluntarily by enterprises, institutions, social groups, and workers engaged in industrial design and related fields, as well as entrepreneurs and activists supporting design innovation.
