Project: Digital Resource Documentation of Traditional Handicrafts and Digital Cultural & Creative Design

The project “Digital Resource Documentation of Traditional Handicrafts and Digital Cultural & Creative Design” focuses on the digital preservation and innovative transformation of traditional crafts. Taking “the construction of a cultural gene bank through rigorous and systematic research, the establishment of a robust database providing reusable resources, and the development of cultural and creative products to revitalise traditional aesthetics” as its core framework, the project promotes diversified inheritance and sustainable development of intangible cultural heritage through the coordinated integration of these three dimensions.

The project outcomes have attracted extensive coverage from major domestic and international media, including China Central Television (CCTV), CGTN Portuguese Channel, Brazil’s New Northeast Television Network, and Qiandongnan Prefecture Television. Drawing inspiration from the Sweetgum dyeing tradition of the Raojia ethnic group, the team reconstructed, refined, and reinterpreted traditional patterns in a contemporary and fashion-oriented manner, producing a series of garment designs that integrate Eastern aesthetics with modern structural design. These works were successfully showcased at China International Fashion Week.
