DIGITAL MEDIA ARTS

Introduction

During the globalized information technology revolution, the arts, with their functional aspect, are involved in the construction of multidisciplinary developments and are once again taking on new forms. Rooted in the intersection of art and other disciplines, this program aims to create fundamental connections between art, sociology, natural sciences and interactive technologies and improve the co-existence between people, art and the information technology ecosystem by stimulating students' interdisciplinary theoretical practice.

The program focuses on training students to develop an in-depth understanding of the development of art while building artistic abstract thinking and enhancing visual expression and narrative skills; to have an expanded understanding of natural sciences, psychology and engineering technologies related to their research interests; to have a more complete social reading ability; and to be able to combine artistic knowledge with practical applications to develop cross-disciplinary art forms and to become future practitioners at the forefront of art.

Content

From the aspect of the history of the evolution of art concepts, students take foundation courses in art and design as well as specialist techniques and cross-disciplinary courses. By setting up studios or subject project groups, their theoretical knowledge is strengthened and the integration of theory and practice is enhanced.

Students learn skills and theories in areas such as narrative techniques, modelling skills, film production, design thinking, information gathering and analysis, as well as art, psychology and sociology. They are able to create and discuss art, combine art with their own characteristics and use artistic techniques to express world views from different perspectives, making art penetrates in different fields.
