Future Design Will Be Closely Linked to Technological Development

With scientific and technological advances, the way in which artistic creation is displayed and transmitted has changed. Unlike traditional art works, the future of contemporary art is a combination of virtual and reality.

Art and technology are in essence to explore the truth and order, and to get an insight into the mysteries of the universe and the human heart, while design is the bridge to link art and technology.

In the post-epidemic era, new interpretations and understandings of future design are emerging, yet they must be closely linked to scientific and technological development.

Basic Art Education Is Going to Be the Focus of Future Design Education

After years of research and practice in art and technology, Gao Peng realized the importance of basic art education in design education, and then quit his job as the Director of Today Art Museum and devoted himself to design education.

Future designers should develop themselves as life-long learners with advanced design concepts, methods and tools as well as the ability to interpret social trends in order to meet the increasing demand of future life and technological upgrades.

Future Design Center and Future Design School, established at Beijing Normal University, aim to equip innovative talents with comprehensive analytical skills, cutting-edge vision, professional literacy and scientific and humanistic concepts.

Located in the Greater Bay Area, Future Design School will be established by Beijing Normal University

In the post-epidemic era, the world is moving towards a new way of life featuring diversity, electronics, new language, new communicative mode and experiential lifestyle. The establishment of Future Design School (FDS) is an important step of BNU to boost the development of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

FDC carries out the preparation for the establishment of FDS. Grounded at the cross-disciplinary research in design, technology and education, FDC fosters an integrated practice of research, education and practice through collaboration across humanities, arts, design, technology, and social sciences, and provides problem-driven and project-oriented education within complementary disciplines.

By gathering the deans of famous design schools in China and scholars renowned in contemporary art and technological industry, BNU has recruited an expert board to support the construction and development of SDF and FDC.
